Situated in a quiet, elevated position you will enjoy some Harbour and Island views from the generously sized balcony. Just 450m to the safe swimming Heards Bay, 1km to the all tide Sugar Loaf boat ramp, 850m to fishing charter wharf & 10kms to Coromandel Town it is ideally located & offers a large Weber BBQ, filleting bench, plenty of car/boat parking & DVD library.
This delightful holiday home has the lounge, dining, kitchen, bathroom and 2 bedrooms upstairs consisting of Queen bed in main and double/single bed bunk in 2nd. Downstairs there is a very spacious 3rd bedroom complete with double bed, arm chair and TV/DVD player to watch those favourite movies from the extensive in-house collection. This room is accessible by a sturdy internal ladder from the bunk bedroom or via a downstairs external door.
"Bird Oasis on Kowhai" is synonymous with it's name. A variety of native birds can often be seen, Kereru, (Wood Pigeon), Bellbirds, Tui's and Moreporks are just a few to mention - Even calling from a Kiwi is known to be heard from the bush.
With plenty of outdoor seating, on both the front balcony or back undercover BBQ area, you can make the most of the sunshine or shade, whatever your preference. There is also an extendable awning on the deck.
The fabulous outdoor bathroom complete with bath, shower and toilet adds that camping style feel to your holiday.
For the fishing enthusiasts there is ample boat parking, fish filleting facilities and also a bait/fish freezer available for your use. There is a large lockable storage area to secure the precious fishing or diving gear. We are of course nearby to both the Sugarloaf boat ramp and Hannafords Wharf, this being the pickup point of the local fishing charters.
The fully fenced property offers safety for the young ones and those 4 legged members of the clan. Dart board, board games and that array of movies makes for the ideal family or friends getaway.
The upper level of the house has driveway access therefore there are no stairs to climb.
At the bottom of the road is the picturesque Heards Bay where you can swim out to the pontoon, or relax on the beach. Further up the moderately steep Kowhai Drive your walk will be surrounded by bush and bird song, the top rewarding you with stunning views of the outer Harbour and an array of Islands.
We are on tank water only which is blue light UV filtered. As we are anticipating a dry summer this does however does mean we ask you to conserve water when you can. Please do not leave taps inside or out running unnecessarily. Washing of cars and boats is strictly not permitted, though we do appreciate you may wish to flush through your outboard motor.
We are also on septic tank. It is essential that only toilet paper is flushed - No sanitary items or baby wipes. No foods, fats/oil or coffee grounds to be put down any sink drain.
There is no Wi-Fi at this property. Dogs are welcome but no cats please due to our vast birdlife.
