Treetops is a wonderful family bach nestled on the edge of the forest just 2 minutes drive or 12 minutes walk from the white sands of Onetangi beach.
Complete with three bedrooms and one bathroom, this is a perfect family home for up to 6 guests.
This amazing property is truly a sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of modern life. A short drive from Onetangi along a winding dirt road brings you to the house perched high in the treetops. The large family deck receives all day sun and is totally secluded and peaceful.
The property is very close to a bird reserve and enjoys frequent visits from a wide range of beautiful native birds including Tui, Kereru, Ruru, Fantails and most excitingly Kaka an endangered species of parrot rarely seen in populated areas. We have several breeding pairs in the neighbourhood and they are extremely inquisitive and friendly!
Inside, the house is well setup for family use. There is a large open plan lounge, kitchen and dining room area. The kitchen is well equipped and spacious with plenty of counter space, a full-size fridge freezer, double oven with gas hob, microwave and tea and coffee making facilities. A range of luxury teas, coffees and hot drinks are provided.
There is a dining table large enough to accommodate 6 guests and another large dining table on the deck for Alfresco dining. On the deck there is also a large gas BBQ and plenty of space for family entertaining.
The lounge is complete with a large flat screen TV with freeview channels and a chromecast. There is high-speed internet throughout the property.
The bathroom is a good size for a family, with a glass shower cubicle and wash basin. The toilet is in a separate adjacent room with its own wash basin.
The master bedroom has a king-size bed and its own access to the deck, there is plenty of storage for clothes and this room also has its own flat screen TV with chromecast. The second bedroom is appointed with a queen sized bed, small wardrobe and bedside tables. The third bedroom has two single bunks, access to the deck and is perfect as a kids room. All beds are made up with luxury high thread-count linens and we supply fluffy white bath towels, face cloths and hand towels.
Next to the bedrooms is a large laundry area complete with a laundry tub, bosch washing machine and plenty of space to hang clothes to be dried.
There is parking available on a wooden parking platform for one vehicle (or two small cars) and further parking available on the road.
Please note that Waiheke Island is a very hilly place. The property is on a steep section and there is a steep flight of stairs to access the property so this may not be suitable for guests with mobility issues.
For groceries there is a superb new Foursquare located in Onetangi which stocks everything you might need. Onetangi is also home to some wonderful places to eat and drink with Ki Maha offering fine dining, Three Seven Two offering a la carte and great cocktails and Charlie Farleys offering good quality pub food, beers and wines, there is plenty to keep you entertained.
Countdown supermarket and a selection of other specialty food shops, bars, cafes and restaurants are dotted around the island and are all just minutes away by car.
Onetangi Beach is one of the best beaches in Auckland, 2km of white sand, Pohutukawa trees and expansive, clean swimming waters. There is a fantastic childrens play area with climbing frames, swings just a couple of minutes walk from the beach and a public BBQ area available to use free of charge.
Treetops Forest Retreat is a real gem on Waiheke offering old-school kiwi charm finished with luxury touches. It is rare to find a property so close to the beach with such a wonderful private forest outlook.
