2 Bedroom Cabin in Republican City
2 bedroom, 1 bathroom cabin along the north side of Harlan County reservoir. Bedroom #1 which we refer to as the "fishing bedroom" has a queen bed. One cot is available for extra sleeping space if needed. Bedroom #2, aka the "hunting bedroom" has 2 twin beds and a queen size bed. 6 people stay comfortably, 7 can be accommodated if you want people to sleep on the cot or couch. Fresh linens and some bath towels provided.
Full kitchen with all the cookware you will need (refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, crock pot, toaster etc). Living room/dining room face the lake. 1 bathroom that has a shower only. Cabin is air conditioned with two window air conditioners. The back deck faces the lake . Patio furniture is in the deck in the back yard and a Traeger grill is provided for grilling.
There is not WiFi at the cabin, however there is outstanding cell phone coverage. There is a television that has a DVD player and some movies are provided but there is not cable or satellite. You are at the lake, enjoy the outdoors!
Fire ring and lawn chairs are in the back yard for evening entertainment. There is plenty of room for whatever yard games you want to bring. Blue Tooth speakers for your music are provided. Please keep the size of the fires reasonable and do not use fire pit in high winds. Put fire out each night when retiring for the night. You will need to bring your own firewood.
Lake access and we catch fish off the bank below the cabin all summer long. Bank fishing does slow down in August. If lake is high you can fish right off the bank below the cabin, if lake is down some you will have to go down the bank to fish. Either way you can fish off the bank. There is also a cove to the west of the cabin you can walk down to and fish. Boat launching both north and south of the cabin at Methodist, Hunter, or Gremlin Cove, they are all three less than a 10 minute drive.
This is a cabin with an approximate size of about 850 SF. We sit on the north side of the lake across from Prairie Dog bay. The weekends are great but if you can find a way to stay during the week it is wonderful as the lake traffic is less than 25% of what it is on the weekend and these are some of the best days to be out on the water or at the lake.
As you can see from the photos Harlan County reservoir is a hunter and fisherman's paradise. Our cabin reflects this in it's décor and how it is set up. If you like to hunt, fish, or relax at the lake come stay with us.
If you have any questions prior to booking please message me. I want to make sure this is the right place for you before you book. If your expectation is that you are renting a luxury house my cabin is not for you. It is very comfortable but it is a cabin.
I also try to treat everyone who stays like they are family or friends, if there is anything I can do to make your stay more enjoyable I will certainly try.
